why is it, i've got a great big hole just behind my no: plate? its about as long as the plate itself and approx 30 cm in height.I only realized when attempting to fit my new square no: plate on the BACK of my 94 wrx.it looks like a out of the factory job,so is there any attachment i can get hold of for it as at the min i can't fit my new plate for the size of the hole!

Don't know why it's there, but it is standard. I bought a nice 9" x 7" rear number plate only to discover the same thing.

mines the same gona fit a standard uk plate as ive got private plates and am 2 tight 2 by a jap sise 1;}
