After leaving my car in the garage for a few days. I came to take it out for a spin the other evening. when I opened the door the inside smelt of Petrol.
So I pulled the car out of the garage and check the floor of the car and garage. Both are dry. I have about 1/4 of tank of fuel and are totally baffled on what it might be,
outside the car the smell is not as strong.

ideas on what it might be or do I put it down to x-files.

Cheers

L

Had you been at a petrol station before you parked the car? Local petrol station to me never washes their forecourt and I ended up with petrol/diesel on the soles of my shoes which got into the carpet mats. Could still smell it in the car days later until I got the mats cleaned.

Not that I recall for a few days.
I will clean the mats at the weekend and see if it's any different.
I have replaced the side repeaters and removed the blank from one of the bonnet vents (not battery side obviously), But I would be in shock if that is why.

Cheers for the tip.
