power steering(?)

hi 94 L wrx i get a droneing and slight vibration ,from steering wheel/column it gets louder the more lock i give it. thi doesn t happen all the time,but its annoying and worrying(££££!)any ideas ,help would be greatly appreciated cheers

I too have MY94 WRX and had same problem as you. Check the power steering fluid level as i found mine to be very low, topping up seemed to sort the problem until fluid got low.
Did have steering rack gaitor replaced a week or so ago during the major service, so that might have been the actual cause of the problem.
could also be a dodgy steering pump.
I'd go with the fluid first, then see how you go.
