Power Steering problem - advice/info ?
#1
Went out to the car today (not used it for a day and a half), and upon starting it heard a nasty belt-slipping type noise. Thought it was just water on the belts so reversed out. Steering extremely heavy, so got back on the driveway. Notice a small pool of dark-red fluid where the car had been parked, underneath the engine area.
I had the 45k service two weeks ago, so I'm assuming that either;
a) a power steering pipe has split/burst/come loose
b) the PS pump has given up the ghost
c) the PS belt is knackered
I'm also assuming the car is not able to be driven to the garage to be looked at, and I will have to arrange for Subaru Assistance (or the RAC as they are now known) to low-load the car to the dealership ?
Anyone else had this happen ? Anyone know if this is covered under warrranty ? Any other advice or suggestions ?
Many thanks in advance.
