Question

Last service (22,500) reported clutch judder and a faulty driver's door window - it had slipped out of alignment and was rattling.

Picked up car after service and was pleased to hear that I'll be getting a new clutch and window mechanism (including the window itself ) under warranty - no probs.

Seems the window mechanism and replacement necessitates a repair to the door and possibly a whole new door?????

Anyone heard of anything similar??

Scottie

Usually it is the bolts that hold the glass to the mechanism that shake loose and rattle (common problem). I've had them tightened twice in 18 months. New door though - I can't believe it?

Apparently the whole window and window mechanism needs replaced - its not just loose bolts!

Still seems a bit extreme to me!

Thumbs down

Hi guys,
I have a major prob and sounds exactly like this post is saying!

2 days ago i noticed that when i put the window down , there would be movent as soon as it got to about half way, and when putting the window up - the same..

Now today i put the window down and even before it left its starting position the whole window moved (as if it were squint) while still in the frame.. and when putting it up... as soon as it got into the frame it moves back.

Sounds like my window has come lose - which is the same as what is going on with yours?
What do i have to do to get this fixed - is it possible for me to do it myself (would it be a case of just tightening up some bolts or does it need new parts? I'm not impressed as i can't get to a garage except for a sunday due to work and most subaru dealers are closed on a sunday - and i can't drop it off as i need the car to get about.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thankyou in advance,
Ian
