STi intercooler - 4 and 5???
#1
Can anyone clarify this for me, please.
Is there actually any difference between sti4 and 5 I/C, except for the fitting? I have a sti 5 one, but am having problem making an adaptor to make it fit my MY98. There is no way I'm going to buy a H&S adaptor, as it costs £80, and I am not paying this out of principle!
And if there is anyone who's fitted a sti4 i/c to a MY98, is it a straight swap, without need for any extra piping, hosing or chopping bits away?
Thanks in advance!

The cores are different between the 97/98 (V3/4) and 99/00 (V5/6) TMICs although the size and mountings holes are the same, the major visible difference is the DV fitting.
The later core is denser and is a better heatsink although it is more restrictive gives overall better chargeflow than the earlier model.

Damn, and I thought the STI 4 Intercooler was pretty much the same as the STI 5 ones
