Have you checked simple things like the exhaust knocking against the bodywork, jack, spare wheel and tools? Has you boot adjuster slipped to the top and your boot closes ok but when driving on rough roads it can rattle/knock?

My H&S backbox knocks when I go over bumps or round tight corners hard.

It's quite easy to check for, just grab the tail pipe and yank it round a bit.

Does it do it when you go fast along bumpy roads?

Had a damper go once, it was very hard to pinpoint when driving, it sounded like it was coming from the opposite side to where it was. - Big single clunk when hitting a bump.

I had a the same problem and it turned out to be the front anti roll bar droplinks. Seemed strange because the noise sounded as if it was coming from the back.

Likely to be a bush, anti rool bar drop links are favourite, rear in this case.

Treat your self, get one of the uprated drop link / Polyurethane bush drop link kits to cure it .. at least it will help the car a little in the handling department!

As for grabbing the zorst and waggling it a bit - please make sure you do it when the car is cold!
