Question

I changed the sp the other day and i found #1+4 badly worn out,gap in excess of 1.5-1.6mm the other two were fine...
std oem ngk's with 68000kms,subaru reccomends changing them at 100000kms.
i did check them at 45000kms and they were all fine.
car has dawes set at 1bar,kn panel filter with a 3in cold air feed, samco hoses, full decat 3 in trust exhaust, aps high flow turbine outlet with a spliter, std 00 ecu.
mind you that in the last 6-8 months the car runs only on 100ron fuel by shell and 99ron by bp,brought exlusively to greece for the olympic games,(some eu enviroment improvement scheme).
car with the new plugs runs fine ,but it did run fine with the old plugs also???
i took the plugs to subaru and they sugested an ultrasonic bath for the injectors.
what do u think guys, anyone else had this?

i take it you are using PFR6B's

you need a higher heat range plug, i use PFR7B'S and find them to be good for the mods i have

Subaru lifing on turbo plugs is to change at 50,000km. I cannot explain why the one bank has opened wider than the other, but I think you have certanly had your money's worth out of them.
as for getting the injectors cleaned, how about trying a fuel tratment to clean them out? One you simply add into the fuel tank every 6mths or so to keep the injector nozzles clean, may be worth a try before having to remove them.

Our temp especially the summer kill the spark plugs, in my old MY00 I changed at 35000km from PFR6B to PFR7B (0,8mm gap) and found that the factory 6Bs weren't all in the same condition, the same found when ported my exhaust headers on or two of them were leaner than others!

Question

i agree with all of the above but i always thought that #2cyl has the lean out problem under full boost(althought my00 do have phase2 improvement)and #3cyl has slightly higher temp than the others cause of the proximity with the turbo, uppipe etc.
so it would be logical to see those spark plugs more worn out than the others, and not #2#3...
jim i agree with u mate i might just upgrade to 7's.

btw #1+#4 are opossite bank not same.
