High tickover from cold on MY99
#5
Hi
I mentioned this the other day, I have a problem after several motorway miles (around 20 or so) when the traffic grinds to a halt the tickover on mine goes upto 1500 rpm when warm, unless I drop into neutral and let go of the clutch

Yup, certainly seems overly sensitive to throttle input etc. Mines seems to hunt quite a bit from cold but I read this seems 'normal' from posts in other threads. Seems a lot slower than my MY94 as well. I guess I'm never happy Handles v.well though.

Hi Jye,
I have the same symptoms with the idle on my 99My as well. With regard to the 'lack of Turbo' I have found that I don't rev much above 5800 rpm compared to taking my 96MY to 6500 most of the time, and I let the torque do all the work. I have also found that I don't change down when overtaking on A/B roads and let 4th pull me past.

Yup, 4th is a stonking gear on the MY99.
From 60-120mph, Its amazing. The engine
is a completely different beast to my previous Scoob though. I'll just have to learn to live with it Such a shame, heh, heh.
