Is there another way to tow a Subaru Impreza other than putting it on a flat-bed trailer? The instruction manual is not very clear on this. I also own an Audi 90 Quattro with a manual locking central differential and it is possible to tow it on two wheels for a limited distance at a limited speed.
Thanks in advance.

HI,
The answers are to be found in the relevant owners manual, if don't have one
try a dealer they should have copies of late
model cars, assuming of course that your subaru is an official import and not one of those Japanese models for which no info
exists in English.
GOOD LUCK

Mine is a MY97 export model with the instruction manual in English. It says on pp8-13 "never tow manual transmission 4WD vehicles with the front wheels raised off the ground", implying that it is OK to tow with the rear wheels off, but there is a US Subaru bulletin which I saw on the internet that it is now their official policy that all 4 wheels must be on the road or a flat-bed trailer, nothing in between. I have heard enough horror stories about gear box (of other cars) being wrecked by being towed the wrong way that I thought I better find out.
