I'd suggest that your choice will be influenced by how long you plan to keep the car.

If you plan to sell it back into the dealer network during the life of the car's warranty, the PPP will preserve the warranty as well as increase the part-ex value at a franchised dealer.

If you plan to keep the car beyond the expiration of the warranty, you would probably find a third party aftermarket exhaust system and a good TeK remap would give better performance for lower cost than the PPP, but in return you won't find the resale/part ex value being enhanced as it would if you went for the "official" option.

Hi all

Im looking to get my 2002 WRX this week and considering the PPP over the other re-maps as I would preferably keep the warranty.

Does anyone have a 2002 WRX with the PPP done, or can someone tell me what the likley power output would be.
Is it worth the money?

Cheers

Don't know if yours is the STI, so this may or may not help...

Ade.

On the 01-02 my WRX, the ppp pack only uprates by around 20bhp.
it is only on the 03my's that it boosts up to 265 bhp.
1600 is a lot for such a small "offering" and believe me, its not that noticeable either.
I'd personally think twice or save for an 03my then get it dont on that one.

Scoobyslut i kind of agree what your saying but it's a bit more than 20bhp!!!
If you are seriously looking at getting PPP on an MY 01 onwards then i'll sell you mine as the person interested in buying my car does not want the PPP for insurance purposes. Only four months old and done 2687 miles since fitted. Mint condition. Give me a bell if your interested?

Cheers Craig

Why are so many people preoccupied with bl**dy "bhp"? Most people, after all, don't have a clue what it actually means!

The most important improvement with the PPP is a big improvement in midrange torque and flexibility/"driveability". It certainly is noticeable, although it's fair to say that there are other (albeit warranty voiding) ways of achieving similar improvements.

Ok, so what is the recommendation?

Get the PPP and keep the warranty or pay ScoobySport for the EcuTek. Is it possible to say get the PPP then upgrade the other parts of the exhaust to get a little more?
