hi, Steve

Lots of people in Holland use 215/17 tire, instead of the 205/17.

Because the stability of the car, isn't more negative than the 205 (when you use a good tire)

With the 205 tire , is the grip in corners a little less than the 215, and it looks a little poor!

I use 215/45 instead of 215/40, because the tire is a little higher, so a little more comfort, and looks better, (looks like a lowerd car)

I know the 215/45 /17 tire is bigger (2.5%),
than the standard wheel, so the accelaration, must be negative, but when driving it's not noticeable because of the high torque of the Impreza

Is it possible to get the same wheels as are on the 22B, albeit narrower. I think they are BBS RC.
Also is there any benefit/problems with changing to 215 width from 205 on 17" wheels. I beleive I've read that people have done it but never commented on the result. I presume you get more grip but there's normally a downside to all upgrades so eagerly await your wise and honest comments.

I think those rims are optional on the STi, so maybe a grey importer can help.
I guess people should order them at the same time when ordering a STi, if they want the BBS.

Im not sure that BBS do a Impreza fittment that you can buy in the UK. I spoke the UK importer Motorsport Wheels (who also do OZ) and couldnt get anything.

Love to be wrong.

I would suspect that improved dry grip is offset against wet grip deterioation.
Also do not fit P Zeros unless you like sliding when you least want to!

S02 are much better :-)
