From watching

1. He was very quick on acceleration.

2. He went round bends better than me ( MY96 ) - Could be just drivers though.

3. Sounded very nice.

Does Prodrive have any brochure detailing the conversions it makes on the MY99? Its site is not very informative, just pleasant to browse. I have sent them an e-mail asking for details but I got no answer back. Maybe you have to beg them in order for them to answer...

Nick,

He seemed quite happy with it, but as he was in a different group to me, I didnt get much chance to really talk to him about it that much. I think Pete and Steve (the owner of the 99 car) tried a test, flooring from 60 in 4th or 5th, and it pulled a very small amount, but this sort of test is open to a lot of problems, ie one floors first etc. The only way to tell would be a proper road test, and maybe a RR test.

Ha Ha!!

All those on IWOC have a wry smile

The std cars produce 235bhp anyway and it would appear that you can give prodrive £2000 and thay will tell you have 235bhp.

In other words you already have 235bhp so I wouldn't hand over the dosh.

For your evidence go to Paul Strong's web site www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~strong/car/dyno/

Peter Croney of Scooby Sport was not worried about the Prodrive modified car :-)

They were as quick as each other and his bits and pieces are significantly cheaper!

Repeating dmel's comments above, has anybody actually seen the Prodrive brochure for MY99 cars yet?

I left my name with them on their stand at the Autosport Show in January and was told 'it will be out around February'.

I haven't seen one yet, has anyone else?

Benny,

That should read for your evidence on the 98MY performance pack see Paul Strongs web page, until we have any evidence we cant say that ? If/When it is proven then we can say its not what it should be.

All I have been trying to say since this started is wait until you have proof before saying something is crap. Most of this argument appeared before the Performance pack for this years car.

I deliberately hadn't posted anything out about the test, as there could be something wrong with the car.

We held the cars at 3000 rpm in 3rd gear and counted down over the radios. Both started at the same time. The two cars were side by side all through 3rd, 4th and most of the way through 5th, until we both had to lift off due to rapidly approaching traffic (which was going in the same direction!!!). There wasn't a metre between the two cars throughout the test.

This would indicate that it is better than the 98 pack but, as all cars vary, it should not be regarded as conclusive evidence as to it's performance

Fuel consumption for the week was virtually identical.

As Ian said, getting one roller'd will show up what is really happening.
