extra Eprom?

Hi there,
I was looking in the ECU en I saw a empty place for maby a eprom.
Has anybody saw this to en do the know what its for.
My ECU is numbered A18-000 D07.(MY1996)
It is a not a UK car. But I know that there was in the option list in the UK a Eprom.
