I stick one of those 'one shot' injector cleaners in each 3000 miles and have had no probs; FSH at Subaru dealership and they haven't had anything to say about knobbed up injectors or anything. MY97 for me too.

In regards to fuel injector cleaners, I do agree that the 3-5000 mile cleaners are great for maintaining great performance. Ive worked for als auto supply for 6 years and I have a preference based on customers and my own experience. Its called "duralube fuel system cleaner" and Ill tell you, its unbelievable. I use it as a "cleaner" when I rebuild carburetors and "older" tech like that. and dont worry, Its not so strong that it melts holes in your gas tank. But man it cleans! And it doesnt leave a residue when its done doing its job. I am not paid to say this about this product, all I know is it works.
and better than any other "major brand" around.

Here in the U.S. Duralube fuel system formula is readilly available at any auto parts store. I am not sure if you guys over there have it, but Im sure you can get it from Howe labs. (the folks who make it). And for a bit for shipping, you can get it sent over pretty easy. Its well worth it. Maybe if you dont have it there, maybe you can turn some others on to it? (maybe make a few pounds (I think thats what you guys call it over there, here, we call it Dollars.) Anyway, you will be happy with the results.
