Part of a thread opened by kc under general notices leading to replacement of all four tyres as his company's fleet advisor said:

"if the tread depth between front and back is more that 2.5mm!!!!! otherwise it could risk damaging the 4w system due to the power transfer."

Not mentioned in the FAQ - anybody else out there aware of this??
Pete Croney, Subaru Manchester or any other tech people - Is this accurate ??
Relevant to me at present because I require new fronts (pzeros 12k ish)- rears ok
Whilst I'm aware of the comments on the FAQ and more or less on various other tyre threads, has anybody out there run on different make fronts and rears and if so, how did it affect handling - I've done it with other cars but they were 2wd - best pair on driving wheels.....
Any guidance appreciated
