no cata ....?

Hello everybody !!
I'm thinking about fitting a Supersprint (maybe another...) pipe instead of the first cata after the turbo.
Do somebody have some experience in removing the first cata?
How much bhp could be gained ???

Its not so much removing the cat, as what you do with the gas when it exits the turbo.
A good gas flowed down pipe will give mid range power and torque increases of up to 25bhp and 20lb/ft (STi4), compared to a super mega cat removal downpipe that exits the turbo in the same way.

Hello,

ric,I have one mounted on my 98 EU spec model.I also removed the second cat and fitted a Laser backbox.I do not know how much you will gain,no 25 HP for sure . But that was with a Sti version which we don't have in our LHD country's.(Sti has only one cat I believe).Supersprint is Italian so for you as a Schweizerkerl it is nearby,or from Holland ,if you email me Igive you info on that.

Pete.
So if the first cat is removed, the replacement pipe is a different shape?
Or the same shape but gas flowed?
My car already has a 3" system and I am thinking of removing the cat, do you do one to suit if so how much.
Mike.
