Hi everybody,
what do you think are the effects on car when running on higher boost.
Maybe I want to boost up my 98MY to 1.2bar (?psi), I think normal is 0.9bar...
I want to have a little bit more power on my car...or should I fit another down pipe? (do the emissions change?). I already installed a K&N filter panel and a back box exhaust and the car is running on 98RON (->good noticeable change).

You have to watch boosting over the engine management's programme. 1 bar of boost is just over 14psi & I would doubt that the Scoob's management system has been programmed over 1 bar boost. To go higher you would need to look at a reprogramme - maybe a 3 bar map sensor & bigger injectors & maybe twin fuel pumps.

Maybe it would be better to go for an import instead?

The boost up is achieved by a reprogrammed ECU. There are several cars which run with this reprogrammed ECU without problems but they all only have few Kilometers.....so I don't know the effects on car's life...

I had a Superchips conversion done on my 97MY Uk spec turbo some 17000 miles ago. Consists of a piggy back ECU board and blow off valve. Was fitted on rolling road then finally taken out onto the local A roads with a laptop connected for fine tuning to my specifications. Have had (touching wood now you understand!) no problems at all and have run on 98 RON ever since. Noticeable increase in power/boost (running at 16psi). Kt can be safely and easily taken off by the average DIYer if needs must (ie. selling to someone who's not interested in the kit). Oh and I tend to drive the car like nature intended too.
