Over the last couple of weeks a strange thing have started to happen on my 95WRX RA.....
When starting the engine from cold, instead of the revs going up to 1500ish rpm, they drop right down to around 500!. If I leave it, the revs will rise after 5-10 seconds - blipping the throttle gets the revs up quicker.

SIMON it sounds like a problem with the idle air control solenoid valve,may be faulty this along with other sensors control the idle speed from a cold start to idle at normal temperature,have the trouble codes read from the ecu peter.
