springs for MY99
#1
does anyone know what the best lowering springs are for the MY99 car and what there true ride height reduction would be (not the manufactures claim as they are usually a mile out ).

Its not advisable to fit lowering springs without also up-rating the dampers.
Lowering springs need to be stiffer to arrest the wheels movement in the shorter distance that is now available.
If the wheel had 80mm of travel before and is now lowered by 30mm, the spring needs to go from 180lbs/inch to 288lb/inch, to achieve this.
Without firming up the damping, the harder springs will overcome the dampers resistance and will oscillate. The car will feel very bouncy.
Despite the lower centre of gravity, the roll will be less predictable and the "bouncy" ride quality will often induce motion sickness in occupants.
It is far better to fit tuned, or adjustable, complete damper/spring assemblies.
