Possibly an air leak which causes the Idle control valve to try and compensate the poor idle.
Check all vacuum and air pipes for leaks.Clean out the Idle control valve by soaking in a tub of brake cleaner.

Or it could very well be a faulty MAF sensor.

I too have an MY00 and I have been experiencing the same thing,(since an engine rebuild) only to the point the cabin shakes and rocks. Have been told by numerous dealers "They all do that"
Have tried the following:

Earth mod.
Maff.
Plug gaps.
Leads.
Double checked timing.
Checked all vacum pipes.
Lamda.
Kicking it.
Swearing at it.
Ignoring it.

All of the above to no avail, but who knows one of em might solve your problem.......good luck. Oh and if you do discover the problem, please drop me a line. Thanks
