Question

Hi people, Im hoping someone can help me here......

Ive fitted a boost gauge today, think ive done it right - it seems to work fine. Would just like you to have a look at a few pics to tell me if ive tee'd the tube into the right and/or safe place.

Im in a standard UK MY02, the guage reads :-

about -8.5 PSI idleing
about 14.5 PSI is the highest ive seen it at during testing.
about -10 PSI or so on over-run.
Are these correct readings for my setup (standard car)?

On the photo ive pointed out a part which I would like to know what its for, its close to where ive tee'd the tube in and hope it wont affect it (whatever it is LOL).

Many thanks Andy

Sorry don't know the answers to your questions, but just like to say that looks neat.

Where did you get the kit from ? How easy was it to install ?

Those readings sound right to me, very similar to mine, except max boost (tek3'd) .. and where you have taken it from looks fine too, given the readings you have.
Sorry don't know what the part indicated is though.

HEHE, thanks for that - I did take alot of time over it, but Im pleased with the results, it almost looks O.E.

Im glad you asked the question you did, because I would like to know too !!!!!

I fixed my friends computer yesterday, and he gave it to me. He has an MY02 aswell and now has a HKS gauge and pod.

Ive been looking around and the pod looks like a Graham Goode one, but ive no idea who makes the gauge. If anyone else has one of these could you let us both know.

Thanks Andy

Question

Surely someone on here knows what this bit is ???

Its shaped like a top hat and has 3 connections, 1 where ive tee'd in goes directly to a tapping on the inlet manifold, another goes to the black plasitc pipe after the air box and the other disappears down under the inlet manifold. If i disconnect the pipe from 'it' to the inlet manifold the idle speed increases quite a bit (didnt do it for long).

Please someone reasure me that its safe for the engine and car, my wife has to drive it and i'd hate to think id done something that could affect the safety of the car.

Thanks Andy

not having a newage I dont know exactly.. but they are usually little things that are to do with emitions control etc. they usually connect to vacume and then to some weird bits (carbon canistor etc) under the hood!

nothing drastic..all you've done is T'ed off the vacume control line .. which wont effect a thing , unless it all comes undone! :P
