Don't forget your ECU will be keeping the idle revs up until the engine warms through.

can anybody help me out with a problem I have with MY 00 turbo u.k. car. When I drive off and for about 10 miles the car will accelerate on its own with the accelerator kept in the same position after going up the gears. This is around 1500- 2500 rpm. Scooby garage does'nt seem to know and by their attitude don't want to know. I have fitted a Magnex turbo back with cats removed but the car has had this problem prior to fitting the exhaust. Would appreciate any advice.

I know this may sound a little daft, but are you sure it's not just the turbo coming on boost. For a given throttle position, the engine starts to work more efficiently and will increase the rate of acceleration naturally.

rpm after warm up is 750. Know what you mean about the turbo kicking in, but have this problem at around 1500 and turbo don't kick in till 2300rpm. what is cel codes. Sorry I'm a bit thick on this, 1st turbo I've had. Cheers. James
