Dump valves are bad

depends which one you have..!! I have a HKS SSQV on my car its been on for well over a year and idle, running e.t.c is exactly the same as with the standard dump valve..

I'd say the valve was faulty rather than saying that dump values are bad. If it's that bad i'd guess it wasn't closing fully or leaking. If the dump value is no goosed then the fueling is not altered in any way.... it would run rich on lift off due to the air being dumped at atmosphere i.e less air for the amount of fuel. Not because it has made the car inject more fuel.
Personally i think the jap valves (HKS, Blitz) are a rip off anyway and would buy something a 1/3 of the price of these (Bailey's, Forge etc). Having had a VTA and a recirc i'd say the recirc is a bit smother while on and off the throttle but nothing major.

Just refitted my original dump valve, after haing a Blitz super sound for about a thousand miles. It messed up the fuelling and generally made the car crap to drive. Anyone else think so?

I have a Forge VTA, but it rund better with the original.
With the Forge, the engine runs not so smooth and hesitates, with judders when lifting the trhottle.
But sometimes I put it on for the fun...
Creepy,

Agree with Tony,
The only way the valve will make your car run badly is if it is
a)defective
b)not fitted properly
c)the spring pressure is too weak for the boost the car is running
There is a little screw on top of the valve to adjust spring pressure. People sometimes wind these right out to make the valve as loud as possible but consequently it usually leaks.
