Best performance improvements for £1500 on classic MY00
#1
A workmate has recently bought a classic scooby, UK MY00 I think, which has just gone past it's 3 year warranty.
He wants to improve performance and would like ideas on the best way to achieve this.
He was considering a PPP, but open to suggestions.
I suggested a turbo back exhaust system with wide mouth downpipe, ITG filter, TEK2 or TEK3 remapping, perhaps IC water spray, and suspension alignment and better brake pads.
Any other ideas out there for doing this? He is in north west but happy to travel!
Thanks
Neil

PPP is a pointless idea. Its only selling point is that it maintains the Subaru UK warranty. As the warranty has now expired...
As has been said, it's advisable to steer clear of the ITG filter. Plenty of evidence now about oil contamination from these things dinking the MAF, sometimes with serious results.
Also don't bother with I/C water spray. For what it does, it's a waste of money. If you're going to do anything with water, injection is much more useful.
Beyond that, your ideas are good, although don't forget to add a Samco turbo to intercooler hose upgrade, as well as a KnockLink and AFR meter.
