Hi all, need some advice what to do with my ECU, upgraded my P1 with plenty of HKS goodies, now need to get the car mapped, my two options are as follws:- Get the car Remapped and set up, or... go for the Motec fully programmable ECU, the latter caosting over 2K!!, can anyone advise me on which to go for, I like the idea of an all signing all dancing ECU at 2K but is it worth it???, please help!!

The Motec is a complete waste of money at this level. You only get the hardware for £2K or so, you'll have to pay extra to get it mapped professionally.

You already have an "all singing, all dancing" ECU in your car that in some ways is better suited to road use than the Motec. Much better to take advantage of what it offers by getting it remapped than leaving it on a shelf in the garage.

There are a few good EcuTek mappers around. Check the website to find one reasonably local, then read up around here a bit to find out what previous customers think.

ECU's like the Motec really only come into their own under situations the standard ECU simply can't handle - for example adding anti-lag, additional injectors or so-on.

Have to concur with Greasemonkey on this one.

I thought I would need a New ECU after mods I'm about to do to My car .

After phoning around. It would appear that the standard ECU will be perfectly mappble with what I want.

No need for 100 tricks. When you're only needing 10!
