a prodrive ecu as fitted with ppp and an sti ecu as fitted to jap imports. relevant to MY99.

AFAIK different ECU map and slightly different wiring WRT Cam and Crank Sensors.

The fundamental difference is that a PPP ECU will work in your car, an STi one won't without additional modification to the wiring loom and sensor setup.

As Scott says, there are wiring differences. Also believe that while the STi's have a MAP sensor, the UK cars don't.
