Hi guy's,
This has prolly been asked a million times but could'nt find any info in the search...
I will be fitting a STI 5/6 Intercooler to my 93WRX Import soon and was just wondering if the old style scoop will be ok to accomidate the larger intercooler.
Got the fitting sorted, it's just the scoop issue that i'm not sure about...
Any help muchous appriciated..

when you say "got the fitting sorted", what did you have to do?, I've got sti4 to go on my 94wrx, it won't go on, been told to machine down the throttle body
Oh, and you'll need the plastic and rubber part that bolts to the underside of the bonnet for that shape intercooler.

The guy i'm getting it of mate has already fitted it to his my95, so he is supplying everything i need to fit it pretty much, just gonna mod the scoop alittle to get it to fit...
Oh and yeah i think you do need to cut down the TB somewhat, just get a hacksaw on it...

When 'machining' the excess off the TMIC make sure none of the swarf gets inside the IC. I had to machine both the TMIC and throttle body to get it to fit. Also you may have to modify the gearbox mount as it obscures the rear of the IC. When I fitted mine I also used a Samco hose kit as removing the lip on both the IC and Throttle body makes the standard hose liable to 'blow off' under boost.

Just completed this conversion but with a MY02 WRX intercooler. Have to say that it was no where near as bad to do as first thought. For the underneath of the scoop I simply removed the old one and will be making a mesh grill to screw straight on to intercooler. A silicon Y piece will be much easier to use as you will need to get an alloy T piece to re-fit your dump valve. The only cutting I had to do was on the metal bit the goes into the throttle body to stop any rubbing.
