Question

Was throwing the car around roundabouts yesterday and noticed the car was poping quite a bit (sounded great ) - and only a semi decat - ss backbox and str8 thru magnex centre...

Why is this?

Wink

IIRC there was a limited no of Catholic Scoobs made. Maybe you have one.

Cool

If you scooted round witha tank level at less than 1/2 full, fuel surge is the answer!

Red face

Are you serious?? Yes, there was barely any petrol in the tank...

I also did a search on 'Fuel Surge' and I'm not sure whether this is some kind of p1ss take?

LOL @ 7 foot! (...in my dreams mate!)

By the sounnds of things you didn't experience anything other than some enjoyable popping noises. When I get fuel surge in my car I almost headbutt the steering wheel - total and violent loss of power.

Sounds to me like you were just out enjoying yourself, your exhaust got pretty hot and unburnt fuel was igniting in the pipe. You noticed this round roundabouts with less wind and road noise - big pops on overrun(sp?).

I wouldn't start worrying.

Thumbs up

Cheers for the assurance!

BTW, is there such thing as fuel surge? Sounds more like hitting the rev limiter! So what's the min amount of fuel I should have in the car?

Yes there is such a thing and it is much more violent than the rev limiter.

It can occur turning hard to the right with anything less than 1/2 a tank. I have had it a couple of times with just under 1/4 of a tank and once with just under 1/2.
