Got an STI5 Type RA. Standard just now with 16 psi of boost showing on the gauge.
Any one know how much it can be lifted by before it will cut out due to the boost solenoid?
I have just fitted an AFR meter and it's running quite rich, so I was wanting to lift the boost a little but was unsure of how much to lift it,
The car is meant to be 310 bhp as standard.
Any advice would be great.

Perhaps this will all help:
I have an STi V3 , bog standard last year, NO mods to the engine, stock exhaust etc etc.
Had acute overboost/fuel cut at exactly 4500rpm at full chat.
Turned out the car had 1.6 bar, 300 lbft torque. No wonder it was fast!
Had Blitz boost controller fitted and rolling road done, set controller at 1.2 Bar and measured 314 bhp, and absolutly NO fuel cut. Drives fantastic. (also cost £900.....)
Engine now has full Magnex de-cat, set at 1.31 Bar and runs faultlessly on the road and in competition (hill climbes).
The car is worry free, sounds great and delivers all that the STi badge promises, really pleased!
I was told by Power Engineering who did the work that really 1.25 bar was the max for the engine, but over the year the setting has crepted to 1,31 . If it keeps doing this then i will findout when fuel cut happens and then back off 10% say to ensure I'm 'under' it.
Good luck, and if you need any more info just contact me.
Graham.

If you are considering upping the boost make sure its in conjunction with a remap
Altering the boost needs to be done in line with the fueling , ignition, etc
Also, 310bhp is a little optimistic for a stock STI5, IMO
