it doesnt actually read anything from the solenoid, it just puts a PWM signal to it. it is best to put a 10k resistor across the output from the ecu to ground if you've just left it floating. that'll keep the ECU happy . might throw a CEL otherwise.

edited to say - do you mean it's still electricly connected ? just not plumbed in ? if so - it'll just tick as normal.just no air @ pressure going through it !

Steve

On the MY03's, fitting an EBC requires the factory Wastegate Control Solonoid to be capped off but still connected. By doing so, does this have any detrimental effects on the ECU's ability to correctly provide fuel and timing mappings? Basically by fitting an EBC, does it screw up the ECU's ability to perform?

Just the EBC by itself should be fine. But if you fit the EBC with a fuel-cut defender too then be very careful!

Thanks for that. I'm a bit worried as now the ECU is reading zilch from the Wastegate Solonoid Valve since its permenantly capped off.

Ya right, just electrically connected but nothing plumbed into it. Before when I had it removed, the CEL came on. So left me no other choice but to leave it electrically plugged in. Thanks guys.

That's why Scoobyduck suggested you connect a resistor instead
