does anyone use these as i went to buy a tube of redex and the man in halfords said not to as it doesnt do anything for subarus he said cause the engine and pistons are under alot of strain products like that arent appropiate for the engine all comments appreciated

I would totaly agree with him!
Dont buy it.
That stuffs ok for your ole shopping car ect, even then the advantages of using it are negligable IMOH.

Redex was sold originally as an "upper cylinder lubricant". Not sure whether anyone really understood that but it sounded good. You were encouraged to add it to your petrol so that it did your pistons a bit of good. It was also claimed to keep the inside of the engine cleaner. There was always a sort of squeezy pump can available on the forecourt and you could put in one shot per gallon for one penny (old money) per shot. The old Rileys used to have a tank for Redex under the bonnet and you had a footpump that you could use to give the engine a shot when you felt like it.
