Fitted a Knock link and bosch sensor but wasn't getting much activity even with the sensitivity turned up full, so wired it into the standard knock sensor at the ECU, but the check engine warnin light is coming on if I disconnect the knock link the warning light goes out.
Any suggestions?

Do not connect the knocklink to the ECU sensor.
You say you didn`t get much activity with the Bosch sensor ... unless there is something wrong with your car then no activity is what you should be seeing as long as you have proved the Bosch sensor works, ie, tapping it as per instructions and it is fitted in the correct place.

Chers Gary, The bosch sensor works OK so I'll just revert back to that.
I just thought that I should be getting some reading under heavy load, but its just the first green light that comes on.

Thats good then mate!!
would you rather have the RED one on!!
Deffo a big no to using the oe. sensor, the ecu uses it to alter the timing... and you dont wanna weaken the signal

Scot,
When u disconnected the Bosch and wired the display unit to the factory sensor the ECU then had no signal from the factory sensor.
Hence why the engine warning sensor came on
Gary`s right in what he say`s "check sensor by tapping it with a metal object".
You`ll now have 1 sensor feeding the ECU and one feeding the lambda link display. As you`ll know there is no connection between the two
