Im going to let the petrol run right down on my scoob as i need for 1)to see how much on a full tank and 2)to see what is left in the reserve tank.

Does any one know how many liters are left once it gets down to the last white mark on the petrol gauge????

A reserve is normally around 5ltrs (just over 1 gallon) and your car has a 50 ltr tank so theoretically it should be at 45 ltrs (but i wouldnt count on that due to the shape of the fuel tank) so id carry a spare can of fuel with you

Have wanted to do the test that you are doing for some time now as I really can't tell how many miles I will get from a full tank. I have a MY93 WRX with a 50 litre tank I believe and when I get to the lowest marker before the E for empty I take her in and fill her back to rim. However I can only get about 35-37 litres of fule back in so I know that at around the empty point I do in fact have a quarter tank or so left.

Dunno if this helps mate - and I would be interest in knowing what your test reveals.

I've run my tank down as far as i dare in my uk96 and it was way past the empty mark.When i filled it back up i managed to get 50.15 ltrs in so i must have literally been on fumes. Got 312 miles.

Im reading the owners manual and im not sure but it does say that the turbo verion as the 60ltr tank and none-turbo as 50ltr tank, so I thought may have abit more then 5ltr still in reserve but not sure???

Im going to carry a spare petrol tank for when it does run out should be fun if nothing else.(run out of pezzy in the middle of nowhere)

I have a 95 WRX RA and also read that it has a 60l tank in the hand book but after about 10 miles with the guage on the stop I only get about 45l in, (200 miles).

Didn't fancy pulling all the cr@p through at the bottom of the tank!

Good point chris may take it as low as I can then once I start to feel it go Ill fill it up with the petrol can...
