-4 degrees is excessive for knock correction unless you have a knocklink and are seeing nothing on it.

You could try an AE802 ECU if it is knocking as that would richen it a bit and allow it to cope with the ignition control a bit safer.

Or fit water injection, or use octane booster.

Just a bit of NF would shut it up (say 1ml/litre).

Or turn the boost down a bit whilst it is hot.

Or retard the ignition a few degrees with Delta Dash. Although it may well still pull out -4 in these areas.

You really do need a knocklink as well to guide you.

Thanks John

I do have a Knocklink (which doesnt light up) and an AFR, and Boost Gauge

I did see the knock correction, I know you mentioned negative KC, but what about + KC, I understand a bit of Delta Dash, but I am unsure of 'safe' parameters, ie what to look for, if excessive positive knock correction is bad

I do need to wind my boost down slightly, as since I fitted the STi Intercooler & Samco Hoses, and Intercooler Splitter, ive noticed that my boost has increased slightly (1 or 2 PSI, peak & held)

I normally run on Optimax, but those logs where taken whilst having a tank of Esso SUL in, Im now back on Optimax so I will do some more runs tomorrow, and check the knock correction, and then wind the boost down slightly and check again

Did some runs today in another MY99, but with PPP, (which highlighted a failing Lambda Sensor, but was showing Knock Correction (and the Knock Link was lighting up briefly around 4.5k rpm on WOT)

and in a MY02 WRX with Dawes running about 17PSI, however there was a lot of knock correction upto +11 for quite a while (no Knock Link on this to double check tho)

I do have the logs for the other two cars that we ran today, but there still on my laptop at the moment

Cheers

Steve

Ok

Here are the logs from the other 2 cars, showing a failing Lambda, and lots of knock correction

Any advice would be appreciated

Optimax should reduce the knock correction quite nicely then.

Had a quick look, the positive KC is OK, the negative is as your car. Needs more octane and a knocklink to be safe.
