If you have the right one for the car, and it's in the proper metal box etc. then it's a case of peeling back the carpet in the passenger foot well, unbolting the kick plate covering the ECU and swapping them over. Just a few plugs on it - simple straight swap.
Disconnect the battery first for saftey, of course...
Shoudn't take more than 10 mins!

Sorry - thought you were asking about an older car.
The physical fitting is how I've described.
But there could be an issue with the immobiliser codes. I'm not sure how this one works, but I would have thought it was quite easily solvable...

99/00 are plug and pray. Turn ignition off, 4 x 10mm to remove kick plate, 2 * 10mm to remove ECU. Flat blade screwdriver to encourage the 3 plugs to come out (tabs at the top). Refit as reverse and drive.

Recently swopped my ECU from an AE802 to AE800 on a MY00.
As JB says -- its plug and play --- does not affect the alarm if its the standard scooby fitement Sigma M30.
Enjoy
