First off let me set the scene.
I have a 95wrx, Apexi PowerFC, AVCR, HKS stailess system including downpipe and de cat, the usual air filter setup ( HKS )
uprated fuel pump, and pressure reg.....few more toys too but not important.

I felt the need to sort the turbo out..looked into HKS ballbearing turbos and APexi Kit....then look at having one built to my spec, i have had this done on my R5gtt and was very impressed.....anyway...i decided to look round scooby net and came across a few people havin this front entry conversion done..

so heres the questions.

1) whats the hell is it for starters

2) whats in the KIT and how much

3) What benifits does it have

4) would i have to change my downpipe

5) what turbo would you guys recomend

6 Any Piccys

cheers for any info posted, its all good reading

All the best

I am not sure there is a kit off the shelf, but hey there maybe one now. All they do is twist the turbo by modifying the exhaust pipes in and out of the turbo and make a new mounting bracket for the turbo so it can use the existing mounting brackets

Also need to raise inlet manifold... I think there are spacer kits available, or better use a twin turbo manifold...

We normally run ours straight through (like the N/A air intake), not under the manifold you can then run larger pipes and get less heat from the engine

I will try to find a car that has it done and send you a picture, the turbo twists a points up towards the bonnet. The inlet pipe goes out there above the right rear head and to the right of the inlet manifold the inlet pipe has a bend in it so it clears the manifold and goes around the tyre well and then down where the normal air box is.

Ah like this http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/subaru_page.html there are plenty of variations of what I am talking about here.
