remove inner arch linings.
remove 4 x10mm bolts that hold bumper to inner wing (two each side).
undo 4x 19mm bolts, inside engine bay.. two on left are just behind drivers headlight next to ABS unit, two on right are just behing passenger headlight.. next to battery.
As you withdraw bumper get someone to unclip indicator and foglamp connectors..
Hey presto!!

There are two ways of removing both front and back bumpers.
By far the easiest way is to use the 1st suggestion. I have MY98 and aside of a few minor differences they come off the same.
The 2nd way is to remove the plastic skin leaving bumper irons in place. Forget it as it is a nightmare
Be aware that rusty nuts and bolts fittings tend to be attached to very easily breakable and expensive plastic.
