Question

Just noticed a big wet patch under the car so lifted the bonnet to have a look. Toward the passenger side there is a rubber pipe a couple of inches long coming out of the bulkhead with water dripping out of it onto the metalwork below, and then onto the ground.

I've had the aircon on today and can only think it's something to do with this as the coolant level etc is fine. Not knowing much about aircon and how it works, is this normal??? If it's not normal what should I do about it?

Any info gratefully received!

Cheers,
Steve

Yep, that's defo the air-con overflow pipe. I've got it on my RB5 and I can't say I've ever noticed it dripping. It's directly above the undertray on my car, so it woulnd't actually hit the ground unless it was pi$$ing out.

Sorry, just realised I'm of no help whatsoever

lol @ ozzy

Well at least you've confirmed it IS the aircon overflow pipe! I wouldn't say it's pi$$ing out but it's a pretty fast drip that's filled the tray underneath.

Cool

Dont worry about it mate if you have the aircon on in hot humid weather you will see lots of drips out of the air con drain off pipe its because when the air hits the air co evaportaor the water content condenses and then runs outta the bottom giving you de humididfied air in the car the amount of customers i have seen bringing there cars in this kind of weather due to this by product of airco is quite unreal as long as you see clear clean water under the car then its not a problem only worry if its the same coulour as your antifreeze then you have a coolant leak
