On behalf of Del T, what are peoples current thoughts on running a MY97 UK Turbo Wagon without the factory Dump Valve. The car is standard except for a magnex cat back. The main aim is to achieve the old WRC chatter. I have stated that this mod may shorten the life of the turbo (done 80k from new) but then again all the old-skool turbo's eg R5GTT etc never had these fitted from the factory so it shouldnt immiediately destroy his turbo.
What's peoples thoughts on this???

No it shouldn't immediately destroy the turbo, but it could do given the mileage.
The type of bearings fitted to the turbo are not capable of withstanding the extra loading that comes from removing the dump valve, some turbos have bearings which can.
At the least it will shorten the turbo life as you say.
