Just had a new crank put in (and piston rings) at 28,900 km / Mid May.
Got a (fast) track day coming up on 26th July.
Car is on 32,600 km today, and have done 2x oil changes at 29,500 & 31,300, both with Mineral Oil (Casrol GTX 15w40).
Advice was to run in then change to Fully Synthetic, and I will probably use Castrol Formula R 10w60 Fully Synthetic.
So....
Do I do an oil change before and/or after the track day ?
When should I change to Fully Synthetic ? Before/After ?
New crank has never been over 6,000 revs, but has been near that for semi-quick bursts with a warm engine and good cool down.
Didn't go over 3,500 revs for quite a while immediately after replacement.
velohead.

If you change to Synthetic just before the track day, the oil will be at it's optimum for protection, run fully synthetic for the track day and run it from then on.
