Thinking of upgrading my MY 01 UK 300 to give maybey 260-270 bhp. Should I go for a PPP or is there a more cost effective alternative?

I have an MY01 with PPP and found it flat compared to my previous scooby, a standard UK MY99. After about a year I added Scoobysport uppipe/downpipe and it became the car I wanted. Have run it for 10K miles with no problems - just smiles. Before the decats it made around 238bhp. Afterwards it made 265bhp/267lbft

242 BHP, 261 lbft. You will have to remove the SS backbox and pay for the Prodrive one.
Do a search on PPP and you'll get loads of for/against/alternatives coming up. In particular note that the MY01 PPP is not an ECU remap like the later models.
Note that your car has three cats as standard - uppipe, downpipe and centre section. Most pass emissions requirements on the centre section only, and in so doing make more power and torque. Since you've already started with the SS backbox you could continue down this or a similar route for now.

If you care about the warrenty than a PPP is the best way to go. Some dealers are sypathetic to other modifications but it's a bit of a gamble.
The alternative for a similar outlay is a full Scoobysport de-cat exhaust system (260bhp) and then add a ECUTEK remap (280+bhp). This is the route I am taking. It also sounds superb!
