Sluggish in First

Can anyone suggest anything - Seems that even whne she is warm I have a real slow pull away in first, gets better at about 5000rpm, 2nd 3rd etc are great.

December 2001 MY01, no engine mods that I'm aware of...
A Magnex Oval 6" x 4" exhaust.

Turning off the air conditioning solved my power problem in first gear.

Should be like sh*t off a shovel in first. Its a rally car.

Seems strange that.

IS there anything I can do generally to improve first gear, so my uptake is better.

Mind you, it will be a bit slow until the turbo kicks in. Rev it up to 3000 rpm before you apply clutch, then you've be rapid everytime.
