Has anybody had a check light come on for a camshaft sensor?
Mine came on on Sunday, but has now gone out again all on its own.

It's a MY01 with a full decat and a ecutek3

Seems to be running ok.

Any ideas what might have caused it to come on? Should I be worried if it's now gone out?

Thanks,
Graham

Whenever mine comes on (once in two years so far) I'm straight to the dealer. Better to be safe than sorry

It seems this is quite a common fault on 01 cars. It normally only comes on at high revs, when they fail. Your dealer will have some in stock and your mods have done nothing to affect the performance or reliability of this sensor.

Pete,

When you say normally fail, I assume you mean the sensor and not the actual camshaft!!!

I did come on during or just after a run at high revs.
As it has now gone out I assume its ok and still functioning correctly.

Graham.
