Hi all,
I need to know how to wire the rear fog for the SVA test on an import, ie, where do i take the power feed from, does it need a relay, does it need its own fuse and if so do i have to wire it into the existing fuse box or can i have an inline fuse.
All i know at the moment is that it needs a rear fog light but no more info than that.

Oh and does the switch have to illuminate with the interior swithces so i can find it in the dark, or by ilumination does that mean it only has to iluminate when turned on ?

Cheers

the original looms are still there behind the blanked of panel to the right of the steering wheel,
so i would imagine they are also there at the back but someone else will be prob better to advise you on that bit,you could always take a live feed from 1 of the back lights AFAIK the
switch does have to illuminate to warn you that you have left it switched on

edited to say my STiV fog switch does not illuminate when lights are on , but only when activated

Hi Paul,
I dont beleive the switch itself has to illuminate in the dark.
But the switch has to illuminate when switched on.

My brother-in-law fitted mine, I understood he took the live feed from the dipped beam.
ie you can only switch it on when the dipped beam is on.
(that is how my uk sport rear fog worked)
No it doesnt need a relay.
Fuse : if you wire it to the dipped beam, then it must be fused from that circuit.(i think).
Remember to sheath the cable from the foglight all the way up inside the boot. Tape was ok for the guy who tested mine.
Taped it to the existing looms as it went forward.
