Question

What do they use as the bond on windscreens?
Anyone know?? Is it just like stickyflex stuff or a special bonder?

Many Thanks.

I had my screen replaced last month and i'm sure it's just normal stickyikeyflex stuff.

Reason I ask is my old fella is building a kit car thing and he wants to know.

The decent fitters will use a two-part epoxy bonder that's purpose designed for the job. The cowboys maybe won't.

Regular DIY type sealants won't bond anywhere near firmly enough for the glass to contribute to the strength of the shell, which is an important part of the screens' job. It's well worth getting this done properly...
