PPP for RB5?
#1
My RB5 already has a Scorpion (Prodrive) back box and centre section.
Would I be able to buy a second hand MY99 PPP ecu, plug it in, and away we go? Or would the PPP ecu need to be mapped for my setup?
Also would I need to uprate the intercooler piping as per the original PPP?
Blobster.

Nah, don't need to do anything. Just a simply plug 'n play job. You could upgrade the intercooler piping, but I ran the PPP ECU on my car from a couple of months without any problems on the original hoses.
The OEM hose has been known to split when running high boost, although I haven't seen any hard numbers as proof of this in 4yrs of ownership. And I would say the PPP runs huge more amounts of boost than the std car.

Replacement IC pipes can be had from Samco, although the original PPP was supplied with the meta Y-Pipe found on the STI's. You can have one of these new, but it'll cost approx. £150.
Samco's can be had for around £50-£60, but be careful you order the right kit.
One is designed for the UK cars (as it replaces the OEM y-hose) - TCS143 (3-PIECE)
The other is for the STI's (used with the metal Y-pipe) - TCS144 (4-PIECE). Here's a pic of the one you don't want if you have an RB5 or other UK car.
