Will an MY95 PPP ecu fit into an MY93 WRX? I know that there won't be any significant performance increase, but i'm wondering about if the mapping would be better for using UK fuel.

PPP ECU/Chip is a very, very, very slightly modified 95 WRX Map.
The PPP ECU has slightly higher boost targets, plus a few other minor changes (PPP 13.6psi, 95 WRX 12.7psi).
It should work fine.
The PPP ECU always gave a false check light when an ECU reset was done, if fitted into a UK car.
This probably won't happen if fitted in a WRX, as the map in the chip originated from one.
There should be a performace increase as a 93 WRX only runs 11.5psi.

I have a PPP ECU in a MY95 scooby, I am hitting 1.1bar in all gears. No problems with any check engine lights. Worth the investment. Being running it over a year now. The ecu will fit.
My ECU was brought from a Prodrive engineer who ran it on his own car. The map might be different but not too sure. Ran along side my bro's evo 7 on a side street to 80mph, pulled away about 2 cars. Then again this might not be a good comparision as there are a few other mods under the bonnet.
PS I am not to sure know as he has a full remap and pushing around 340bhp.

You can run a Z4 95WRX in any Pre96 WRX from my own and others experiences.
I have also run several WRX ECU's in my UK car when I was Remapping the Pre96 cars (Known as ScoobyECU or 'WAS' advertised as ScoobyTunes in the ScoobyNet Shop)
A Z4 MAP is the same as a PPP Map with 7 minor value changes to the fuel map (out of a possible 256).
No Changes to the Ignition Map.
13 Value Cahnges on the Boost Map (out ot a possible 128).
And 8 Corresponding Changes to the Boost Duty Cycle Map (out of a possible 128).
Speed limiter increased from 112mph to 170mph
Other than that they are identicle.
I also know of at least 2 WRX that are running the Prodrive Chip. One being a 95 the other a 93/94.

Scott - just been on the REMAP FOR OPTIMAX thread....is it true a MY95WRX ecu is mapped for 98RON fuel ? Is that the change you mention to the fuel map for the PPP to allow it run 97RON which is the recommended fuel?
I have a 95WRX and if it is able to time the ignition properly to cope with 98RON then in theory this means no OB is ever needed for a 95WRX even for track days!
Cheers
Alex

Fuel Maps and Ignition maps for 93-94WRX are very poor. If you saw them compared to a 95WRX or even the MY99/00 maps on the ECUTEK site, you would be suprised that they run at all.
The Pre96 PPP was always recommended to run on 97/98RON, so IMHO a 95WRX should be the same (for the reson given above).
