knock link sensor

I have a 93 wrx import,and want to fit a knock link sensor but there is also a lambda link sensor, which is best one to have to protect engine ?

knocklink as it monitors the actual knock/detonation that causes piston damage..!!
I have a lambdalink only and will soon be investing on a knock link.
