Yes i'm sure your Subaru dealer can still supply the parts for this. Speak to them about it.

Local dealer told me that the PPP was no longer available for the classic. Asked them a few weeks ago after going for a p.ride in one. Mine's a '00, btw

Pete,

With your MY97 I would be tempted to go the after market route, as the only reason thatI would go for a PPP was if it meant keeping my warranty valid.

There should be a few options out there for your car.

The only problem with tuning the 97/98 cars is the ECU. You can't just drop the cheap ScoobyECU chip in, and you can't get it re-mapped with Ecutek software. So it's either the Expensive PE Phase 1 conversion (where they solder a PCB in to the ECU to map it), or a replacement ECU. Other tuning methods work just as well as all the other MY's.

My MY97 has full decat, K&N induction, Dawes set to 1.2 bar, Forge VTA, and Samco hoses, and it's plenty quick.

Rich Wild has an MY97 running 340 bhp on the standard ECU.

They are every bit as tunable as the other MY's.
